Whether you’re new to Sage 50 or a long-time customer, there’s a lot to explore in this latest edition.
Prior Period Account Reconciliation
Now you can easily reconcile bank accounts and access past transactions without switching accounting periods. With this feature you’ll reduce posting errors by eliminating the need to switch back and forth between accounting periods. It also lets you reconcile accounts while everyone else continues to work in the current period, so you don’t have to wait until nights and weekends, after others have gone home. Not just bank accounts but GL accounts and vendor statements during month end as well. Only users with security rights can edit and save transactions in a prior period. And, we made tweaks to the entry screen based on requests from customers like you!
Deactivate Multiple Vendor Records
This feature within the System Navigation Center allows you to easily view a list of all your vendors with no activity from whatever date you specify. Instead of deactivating one vendor at a time, you can simply verify the last active posting for each vendor and select the ones to deactivate, all on one screen.
Deactivating records can reduce the time it takes to find the right vendor in your lookup lists. And, when you purge those records, it helps reduce the size of your company database and improves system performance. You can use this same feature to mark customer records inactive.
Records are not erased; they are simply hidden from look-ups
Waste-Free Check Printing
When checks need more remittance room on the stubs, you can now print that information on plain paper after all your checks are printed. You also have the option of not printing zero-dollar checks. Print long remittances after the check run so that plain paper can be used. Eliminate missing check numbers from checks that have been voided. Feature can be turned on or off as you wish.
Expanded Amount Field Lengths
Now you can record amounts exceeding 1 billion and up to five digits to the right of the decimal. Perfect for companies that use currencies other than the U.S. dollar. Expanded amount field lengths are available on transaction screens, list views (including dashboards), reports (including Sage 50 Business Intelligence), forms, account register and maintain inventory item history tab screen. Data from prior releases will continue to display as it was originally entered.
